Guys, take note. Propose on a mountain top and bring extra batteries.

These two have a great proposal story -

“We took a trip to Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor, Maine that summer with a few of our best friends. We decided on one rainy/overcast day to drive through Acadia to show our friends the park instead of taking a hike. At our last stop, Cadillac Mountain, we decided to sit around and enjoy some scenery for an hour or two instead of taking a few pics and quickly driving off. At one point, while milling about the mountaintop , Marc asked Jason, our future best man, to use Marc’s camera to take a scenic of the two of us. I was slightly annoyed ONLY because we were camping and my hair/makeup/wardrobe very much reflected that I had been sleeping outside. LOL! Anyway… before Jason took the picture, Marc turned to me to say “isn’t this a beautiful place? And we get to enjoy it with some of our best friends..” and while I was about to respond, we heard Jason say “SHIT Marc! Your camera battery is dead!!” Marc got so upset and I could not understand why. My friend Kim said “Oh no biggie! I’ll take your picture!” So she did and Marc and I went back to the group. Shortly after, we decided to pack up and leave. As we were leaving the park, Marc stopped me and asked me to take the rocky path instead of the smooth paved path back to the parking lot. I got frustrated and said “No! I have flip flops on and I’ve already tripped on the rocks twice!!” (I’m sooo graceful). He said “just cmon and do it”. Fiiiiine. I walked maybe 5 feet when Marc tugs my arm and said “Look how pretty Bar Harbor is in the distance. The sky is clearing and you can see all of the little islands in the harbor.” I turned and he was so right. It was turning into a beautiful day. That’s when Marc started to say a few words that I strangely remember him saying right before that pesky camera battery died.

“Isn’t this a beautiful spot? We had our first vacation here last year and here we are a year later enjoying all of this with our friends. So Jessica– where the mountains and the forest meet the sea will always be a special place for you and me. Will you marry me?”

As you can imagine– I cried and laughed and hugged and kissed him and exclaimed from a literal mountaintop “YESSSS!!!” He had made my dreams come true.

All of a sudden we see all four of our friends running back to us cheering! My friend Kim thinks she may have knocked over a few people while running and saying “out of my way!! That’s my best friend!!!”

The next days of vacation (and all of the days to come) were a great celebration for us, our friends and family. I’d also like to mention that right as Marc was
proposing, the clouds went away and the sun shined so bright!! Honestly,
it was an incredible shift….it was cloudy and overcast the two days
prior and the 4 days after!!! But we got to enjoy that sun until that
night as we celebrated. So wonderful.”

Jessica and Marc were married the Saturday after Thanksgiving, a cold but sunny November day.
Jess had her hair done at Salon Odette, then met me at her childhood
home in Waterbury, CT where she got ready with her wedding party,
including her Grandma as her Maid of Honor. Her ceremony was just around
the corner at the church Jessica attended growing up - Our Lady of Lourdes Church in
Waterbury, CT; a grand cathedral
with intricate paintings and impressive architecture. Their fireside reception was held at A Villa Louisa in Bolton, CT.
