It was the kind of rain that made a bright morning sky go dark, but I wasn’t nervous. I KNEW the rain would stop, and the sun would shine.

When you’re a photographer, you become some sort of amateur meteorologist who also may have a rabbit’s foot lucky pendant or make deals with the Universe for perfect weather and light, despite knowing the show must go on either way.

Well, The sky did clear and the wonderful people at The Golden Lamb Buttery were able to set out the chairs in the field for Emily & Christopher’s ceremony.

Emily arrived with her bridal party - in various models of Ford Mustangs, while Chris waited for his bride beside the garden for their first look and portraits. The ceremony was held beneath a giant old tree in a stone-walled field, as the guests were serenaded by friends on acoustic guitars. Everyone gathered in the barn where the couple danced to Adam Sandler’s Grow Old With You before having homemade cake and pie.

….and they are living happily ever after.

The Golden Lamb Buttery is part of Hillandale Farms, a one-thousand acre farm full of pastures, animals, stone walls and a barn-turned restaurant with a deck overlooking the pond and the animals. It’s quite the view, and worth a visit - wedding or no wedding.
