Jess & Ryan welcome baby

“Mountains!” I shrieked from the back seat, louder and more excitedly than I intended - startling my dad and stepmom, breaking the silence that filled the car. (But really, mountains excite me every time I lay my eyes on them.)

After the 4 hour drive to the small Northern Vermont hospital where my sister was about to welcome her son, a friendly nurse waited at the door to escort us up to her room. We had arrived with only minutes to spare, and, for the second time, I was able to be by my sister’s side as she experienced the most pure joy in life.
